Home Decorating Simple Halloween Pumpkin Porch Steps

Simple Halloween Pumpkin Porch Steps

Every year one of my favorite things to do is decorate our front porch and steps for Fall. If you have seen my past year’s front porch steps, you know I really enjoy going all out. The bigger the better. But for my first porch steps of the season, I wanted to style a simple Halloween pumpkin porch look and show how easy it is to achieve this look with just one item! Well, a bunch of one item.

One big thing I would really like to do on the farm is to replace our decking, as the wood is starting to deteriorate and rot. Because it’s such a large job to do, that’s just something that will have to wait. To hold us off on construction while also trying to make the porch look cozy, we decided to paint it for the time being. I had some leftover paint and decided to paint it quickly. I am not quite finished as this was only one I am really loving how it is looking with the white pumpkins sitting against it.

For this project, I knew I wanted white pumpkins. However, affordable white jack-o-lanterns that light up are really hard to find. I found some great pumpkins in multiple sizes [see below for shopping details] at Target and decided that we would paint the pumpkins white! I went a little overboard & of course if you wanted to recreate this look you could just do one or two, but here at White Cottage Farm we tend to go big for the seasons. We used our Grace X5 Airless paint sprayer since we had it out for another project, but it could have easily been achieved with a couple of cans of spray paint. We actually hung the pumpkins from the clothesline & painted them with leftover Dove White paint from our studio. It worked well!

What it looks like at night:

I love that I can use these for different looks around the farm, so stay tuned for that! I also love that they are similar to the white jack-o-lantern mantel I did last year [HERE] but this is the outdoor version. This is how White Cottage Farm creates a cozy white halloween look! What do you think?
