Fresh out of a Swedish jail, hip-hop star A$AP Rocky showed up Sunday at Kanye West’s weekly Sunday Service in California.
Video circulating on social media shows Rocky chatting in a circle that includes his rumored former flame, Kendall Jenner. Another photo shows Rocky speaking to West at the outdoor event.
Rocky was allowed to leave Sweden while he awaits the verdict in an assault case.
Rocky, 30, had been detained since early July for his alleged role in a brawl that broke out in Stockholm in late June. He was was charged with assault and pleaded not guilty.
Prosecutors accused Rocky and two members of his entourage of beating 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari. Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, testified last week that he had attempted to avoid the fight and urged Jafari and another man to leave them alone.
Rocky contends he acted in self-defense.
The “Praise the Lord” rapper’s case drew the attention of President Trump, who advocated for Rocky’s release on social media.
Swedish prosecutors released a letter from U.S. ambassador Robert O’Brien dated Wednesday that warned of “potentially negative consequences to the U.S.-Swedish bilateral relationship” if A$AP Rocky case was not resolved “as soon as possible.”
