Karnataka Lockdown News: Schools, cinemas & pubs in Karnataka to run 100% from October | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: With fresh Covid-19 infections under control, the Karnataka government on Friday allowed schools and colleges to conduct regular in-person classes for grades 6-12 with 100% student attendance from October 1, besides giving nod for cinema halls, movie theatres and pubs to operate with 100% capacity from October 3.
The government relaxed the night curfew by an hour from 10pm to 5am, effective Saturday. Till now, schools were allowed to function with 50% attendance and students turning up on alternate days.

The decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by CM Basavaraj Bommai with health experts and officials. About cinema halls, Bommai said people with at least one dose of Covid-19 vaccine will be allowed entry. However, entry into cinema halls will be restricted for pregnant women and children.
The CM said: “If the Covid positivity rate in a district crosses 1% mark, then cinema halls and pubs in that area will go back to 50% occupancy and face closure if the rate shoots past 2%.” The state’s CPR stands at 0.66%.
Vigil along borders to be increased
The meeting decided to issue separate guidelines for upcoming Dasara festivities to held in Mysuru as it attracts thousands of tourists.
The CM said they have decided to accelerate the vaccination drive in Raichur, Yadgir, Kalaburagi and Mysuru districts where the CPR is slightly more than the state’s average. Vigil along the state’s borders will also be increased. Revenue minister R Ashoka and health minister K Sudhakar will visit these districts and hold meetings with officials to bring down the CPR, the CM said.
Following requests to allow offerings in temples, the CM said DCs of districts have been given the mandate to take a call based on the local Covid situation.
