Home Design Interiors Pumpkin and Plaid Fall Table

Pumpkin and Plaid Fall Table

I love finding new resources for decor and textiles to incorporate into our home and style in fun and creative ways. So today, I am sharing a pumpkin and plaid fall table that I styled with some new items I received from one of my new favorite shops, Heather Taylor Home. I am also sharing some simple tips to keep in mind when you are styling your own fall table this season…

The collection of home goods and textiles that designer Heather Taylor has created are great additions to any cozy home. I feel a little silly that I only just discovered her over the summer, but I’m now a full-on fan and I’m so inspired by everything that she posts on her Instagram.

Over the weekend I styled this fun pumpkin and plaid fall table. Because this table is in our sunroom, it’s a great way to incorporate fall into our kitchen. I oftentimes style a casual tablescape featuring pieces from my collections mixed with elements of nature, however, this tablescape is a little more detailed and I am really enjoying it! I received some cozy textiles from Heather Taylor Home, a plaid tablecloth, gingham cloth napkins, and a plaid pillow.

Cozy Tips for Decorating a Fall Table

  • Begin with a base, For fall I prefer to use earth tones. For this table, it’s the rich in color plaid tablecloth. For a more simple tablescape, skip the base altogether and let the texture from your table be the foundation
  • Next, I like to add height. On this table, it’s the tall taper candles in the brass candlesticks, but I also really enjoy placing a vase filled with branches that I gathered from outside. In the colder months I also really enjoy utilizing amber jars and bottles to warm up the space.
  • Create interest and volume by layering different fall elements, like gourds, pears, apples, and pumpkins. This is your chance to experiment and get creative with how detailed or minimal you desire your table to look like. I also added [these] pumpkin mugs for an added fall vibe.
  • Bring in color with candlesticks [You can find some HERE].
  • Bring texture to your space with baskets, sweaters, blankets, & more. [hanging basket: Zara Cardigan: Target]

  • Mix and match colors, tones, and textures
  • Another way to bring color into your kitchen or living space is by hanging vintage or antique-inspired art prints
  • When entertaining for a fall event, think about a conversation piece you can add to your table. On this table, I added some notes about gratitude and things that we are thankful for.
  • Add pumpkins to your indoor spaces. Faux pumpkins that look real are the best. Find them [HERE]
  • Don’t forget to use your 5 senses when decorating, including taste! For fall, offer an apple cider, tea, caramel drink, or other warm and cozy drink offerings.
